Happy Lucien news from the not so happy void

Hello all,

It has been many moons since I have sent an update on life and creation. I hope that you have all been hanging in there while navigating through this rough landscape. Perhaps all I have to say is that there have been many lessons stirring that have collectively made us stronger, more unified, and aware of the changes that need to be made.

I am excited to share with you some personal highlights as well as some administrative updates and an upcoming exhibition I'm grateful to have.

Thanks for reading on, stay safe and healthy.
With Love, Lucien

UPDATED WEBSITE
I have to admit when it comes to technology I am no whiz. After about 7 years I have finally updated my website. This includes a link to the Fools Journey book, newest films, selected works from the last 15 years, and a back catalogue of available works.

If interested in the archive please send an email and I will get you the link and password.

This show is very important to me as it arrived in perfect union with some huge life changes. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with Fairfax Dorn. She has a special eye and understanding for this collection of work and the entire FDP team has been wonderful. I am sad I will not be attending the opening but I will be there in spirit.

Press release:
FDP presents Eternal Circle by artist Lucien Shapiro. Shapiro creates a body of work that ultimately returns to the root, to the center of the circle. He guides us through a journey to discover that things are neither formed nor destroyed, but open for connection and oneness. Lucien Shapiro's art is rife with found objects, textures, cast forms, manipulations, raw substances, oddities and multiple personalities. Treating forgotten objects and memories as treasure, he creates a kingdom under which new life is born through sculpture. Shapiro's work, a laborious craft and meditative consumption of time, transforms forgotten objects into nostalgically interesting and beautiful relics that compel viewers to re-evaluate what our everyday possessions represent and mean to us. Lucien Shapiro invites us to slow down, to not only gain appreciation for the artifacts that tell a story about who we are in this day and age, but to find inspiration in the value of time and craft. Says Shapiro, "The most important themes I draw upon in my art practice are transformation, repetition, meditation, and growth. In a world of rapid climate change, by utilizing materials most would discard, I create a raw conversation between treasure and trash."
LAST AND DEFINITELY NOT LEAST
If you follow me on social media than it is no surprise that 2022 brought many blessings to the Shapiro house. The first was marrying my ride or die sweetheart and life partner, and following with my daughter Meilu Astra Shapiro due Earth side any moment now. Which is why I will not be in attendance to the show in East Hampton. Family, friendship, and creation are the most important things in this life, and I am so excited to start this new chapter.

THANK YOU FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMISSIONS, OR PROJECTS PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT.
